many nytes

many nytes i lay awake dreaming
of days to come and wishing
that the nytes to come will be different
and sleep's payment will be well spent

many nytes i lay awake thinking
of wat 2morrow will be bringing
and then i resign not to be bothered
afterall the fates my fate have ill considered

many nytes i i lay awake hoping
that soon my door will come knocking
the old rugged fool called death
and i shall take my last breath

many a nyte, many a nyte
i ponder over my plight
i wonder if there is truly one with all might
that he just might
for ever or a day
take my troubles away
